Record and monitor telecommunications resource utilisation

Purpose
This unit standard is for people who are currently working, or who intend to
work, in jobs which require monitoring and recording of resource utilisation;
and applies to project, production, or operational managers.
People assessed as competent in this unit standard are able to monitor and
record all movements of resources within their area of responsibility, and the
deployment and effective use of resources.

Resource utilisation: manufacture, process, build, install, sell on;
Stock control system: electronic, paper-based, spreadsheet, index cards.

Record movement of resources.
Performance criteria
1.1
Record of movement of resources is accurate and complete and complies with
organisation policy and procedures.
1.2
Requisition orders are accurate and complete, and are received by stores
personnel in agreed format and timeframes.
Range

inventory numbers, colour, finish, hardware or software version;
quantities; delivery sites (single or multiple), delivery dates and
times.
1.3
Receipt of resources is recorded in the correct format and is received promptly
by stores personnel.
1.4
Logistic status of inventoried resources allocated to area of responsibility is
traceable at any time.

2.1
Monitoring of resource utilisation is accurate and complete and complies with
organisation standards.

Changes to resource requirements are recorded in the correct format, approved
by authorised persons, and surplus unit standards or additional requisitions are
received promptly by stores personnel.

Please note
Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards
must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.

Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this
standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The
AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations
wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for
tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
