The sectors include graphic pre-press, digital output, sheet-fed, reel-fed, screen, binding and finishing, and fibreboard packaging; print industry company refers to a business involved within the print or packaging industries. Performance criteria 1.1 Production planning of workplace resources is carried out to meet the requirements of the job. Range 1.2 equipment availability and capacity, labour availability, substrates, materials and other requirements. Jobs are routed through the workplace to achieve maximum efficiency of resource utilisation while meeting the requirements of the job. Range workflow, workload, completion date. 1.3 Production hours required and commencement times are scheduled to meet the completion requirements of the job. 1.4 Allocation of instructions, materials, and other processes are carried out to meet the requirements of the job. Range job specifications, materials requisitions, ancillary processes required, completion times. 1.5 Work-in-progress is monitored against planned production schedules. 1.6 Production planning board or system is used for scheduling work. Range work-in-progress, expected completion dates, work constraints, bottlenecks. Element 2 Follow production control processes in a print industry company in accordance with established company practice. Performance criteria 2.1 Equipment capacity utilisation is monitored. Range under/over utilisation, co-ordination of labour resources to meet demands. Range 2.3 Effectiveness of purchasing and supply of materials and outside services is monitored. Range 2.4 delivery performance, quality, quantity. The achievement of quality standards and procedures is monitored. Range 2.5 movements in stock levels (receipts, issues, wastage, loss). job specifications, company standards. Scheduled downtime and maintenance programmes are allowed for and monitored when undertaking production planning. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards.
