Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: describe lubricants and
hydraulic fluids used for lubrication and hydraulics of a trawler fish processing
factory; lubricate a trawler fish processing factory; apply Ministry of
Agriculture and Fisheries (NZ Food Safety Authority) approved corrosion
prevention coating to a trawler fish processing machine; and maintain factory
hydraulic fluid levels.
This unit standard is designed for people working in, or intending to work in a
seafood processing plant aboard a fishing vessel.

4.1

procedures.

Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated
authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against
unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register
credits from assessment against unit standards.
