Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Demonstrate knowledge of card clothing. Evidence requirements 1.1 Card clothing is described in terms of types, characteristics, and use. Range types – metallic, fillet; characteristics – counts, crowns, gauge, wire angle, points, backs, foundation. 1.2 Amount of card wire required is calculated and appropriate amount is ordered . 1.3 Application of card wire is described in terms of wire type and application process. Range wire type is suited to machine – metallic, fillet. Outcome 2 Demonstrate knowledge of card grinding. Evidence requirements 2.1 Grinding process and equipment is described in terms of the reason for grinding and types of grinding.
