They may refer to manuals, manufacturer's specifications, codes of practice, or policy statements. 3 In some cases, a continuous heat setting line is referred to as a Superba Heat Setting Line or a Superba Steamline. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Demonstrate knowledge of processing carried out in a continuous heat setting line. Evidence requirements 1.1 Continuous heat setting line sections are described in terms of their function and operation. Range 1.2 creel, tension devices, yarn preparation system, coiler, presteamer and cooler, heat set tunnel, accumulator, yarn separation, winding. Safety devices are identified and the risk they protect against explained. Outcome 2 Comply with workplace procedures and statutory requirements. Evidence requirements 2.1 Company-supplied clothing, and hygiene and safety equipment and materials, are worn and used in accordance with workplace procedures and statutory requirements. 2.2 Work methods comply with workplace procedures and statutory requirements to minimise the risk of ill-health and injuries to self and others. 2.3 Unsafe and unhealthy conditions are identified and reported in accordance with workplace procedures and statutory requirements. Outcome 3 Process yarn using a continuous heat setting line. Evidence requirements 3.1 Yarn is processed in accordance with workplace procedures. Range 3.2 machine – creel maintained, blockages and stoppages cleared, broken ends mended, winder maintained; production – production weighed, identified and recorded according to workplace requirement. Samples are taken in accordance with workplace procedures. Outcome 4 Clean continuous heat setting line and work area. Evidence requirements 4.1 Machine and work area is kept clean and waste yarn is collected and sorted in accordance with workplace procedures. 4.2 Cleanliness of equipment and work area complies with workplace procedures. This unit standard is expiring. Assessment against the standard must take place by the last date for assessment set out below.
