Purpose
People credited with this unit standard are able to: prepare for
short period maintenance of a carpet tufting machine; service
the machine; and change the configuration of a carpet tufting
machine.

Definitions
Short period maintenance includes lubrication and replacement of key tufting
components, and is usually carried out when changing the configuration of the tufting
machine.
Workplace procedures refer to the verbal or documented procedures for performing
activities including health and safety, operational, environmental and quality
management requirements. They refer to manuals, manufacturer's specification,
codes of practice, or policy statements.

Performance of the elements must comply with Health and Safety in Employment Act
1992.
