People credited with this unit standard are able to: plan and set out kitchen fittings and fixtures; assemble and install components for a kitchen; and manage sub-contractors for installing a kitchen. Evidence requirements 1.1 The kitchen fittings and fixtures are identified from the working drawings. 1.2 The site conditions are measured and documented in accordance with workplace practices. 1.3 The fittings and fixtures needed are calculated and ordered in accordance with workplace practices. Outcome 2 Assemble and install components for a kitchen. Evidence requirements 2.1 Components are assembled on or off-site to conform to the working drawings. 2.2 Requirements for fitting the assembled components on-site are identified in terms of their impact on the installation process. 2.3 Assembled components are installed to meet the requirements of the working drawings and job specifications. 2.4 Any temporary protective measures required for the components are applied in accordance with workplace practices. Outcome 3 Manage sub-contractors for installing a kitchen. Evidence requirements 3.1 Areas requiring specialist work are identified and managed in accordance with the job specifications. Range specialist work may include but is not limited to – plumbers, electricians, builders. This unit standard is Range project requirements may include but are not limited to – timeframes,expiring cost, availability, expertise. 3.2 Project requirements are agreed and managed to meet the job specifications. 3.3 Communication with sub-contractors is managed to ensure agreed project requirements are met.
