Provider refers to a provider of education or training within the candidate's organisation, for example, other courses at school, or tertiary institution, or outside the candidate's organisation. Recruitment criteria refers to the criteria identified by an organisation as the minimum requirements for entry to their organisation as an employee or a candidate. Needs are those relating to gender, culture, ethnic background, age, learning, disability, socio-economic group and language. Elements and performance criteria Element 1 Assist the client to identify their background, goals, needs and expectations. Performance criteria 1.1 The background of the client is determined in terms of education, skills, interests, values, culture, experience, and qualifications. 1.2 The goals and expectations of the client are identified and clarified in accordance with education and/or employment opportunities. 1.3 The needs of the client are determined in relation to education and/or employment opportunities. Element 2 Interpret the requirements of the employer and/or provider for clients. Performance criteria 2.1 Information about work or courses accessed from the employer and/or provider is in accordance with the needs and expectations of the clients. 2.2 Recruitment criteria contained within the information about work or courses are interpreted in relation to client’s needs and expectations. 2.2 Recruitment criteria provided to clients are current and complete. Element 3 Assist the client to select a course or work and support them through the referral process. Performance criteria 3.1 Options for work or courses are presented in accordance with the identified needs and expectations of the client. 3.2 Provision of support in selection of options is in accordance with identified needs and expectations of the client. 3.3 The client and employer and/or provider are matched to provide maximum benefit to both parties. 3.4 Provision of support during the referral process is in accordance with identified needs of the clients. Element 4 Review the selection and referral process. Range review may be self or peer. Performance criteria 4.1 The review evaluates the selection and referral process in terms of the goals, needs, and expectations of the client. 4.2 The review evaluates the selection and referral process in terms of the longterm outcome of the selection and referral. 4.3 The needs of the client are confirmed as being met in terms of culture, gender, age, disability, and learning needs. 4.4 The feedback from the client confirms whether their participation in the selection and referral process has met their needs. Please note Providers must be accredited by NZQA, or an inter-institutional body with delegated authority for quality assurance, before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses of study leading to that assessment. Industry Training Organisations must be accredited by NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards. Accredited providers and Industry Training Organisations assessing against unit standards must engage with the moderation system that applies to those standards. Accreditation requirements and an outline of the moderation system that applies to this standard are outlined in the Accreditation and Moderation Action Plan (AMAP). The AMAP also includes useful information about special requirements for organisations wishing to develop education and training programmes, such as minimum qualifications for tutors and assessors, and special resource requirements.
