People credited with this unit standard are able to: prepare to fit fixed glass; fit fixed glass; and check fitment and complete documentation. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Prepare to fit fixed glass. Evidence requirements 1.1 Supervisor's instructions are carried out according to company policy. 1.2 Glass and materials are identified and checked, and damage and defects are identified, recorded, and reported according to company policy. 1.3 Safety critical items are identified according to company policy. 1.4 Vehicle is checked in the area of glass installation, and damage and defects are identified, reported, and recorded according to company policy. 1.5 Safe working practices are carried out throughout the task. Evidence requirements 2.1 Tools and equipment are selected and used according to company policy. 2.2 Window glass and aperture are prepared for fitment of the glass according to company policy. 2.3 Window glass and mouldings are fitted to the vehicle, and there are no damage, water leaks, or signs of excess sealant according to company policy. Range urethane, rubber. 2.4 When applicable, the rear view mirror is attached to the windscreen in the position and manner specified according to company policy. 2.5 Safe working practices are carried out throughout the task. Evidence requirements 3.1 Work is checked, and glass is secured according to company policy. 3.2 Defective parts are identified and reported according to company policy. 3.3 Problems encountered in the installation are identified, recorded, and reported according to company policy. Range include but are not limited to – faulty glass, faulty materials, defective equipment and tools. 3.4 Work area is kept clean according to company policy. 3.5 Safe working practices are carried out throughout the task.
