This unit standard is for people with experience in design and
layout for the signmaking industry.
People credited with this unit standard are able to: prepare a
visual presentation of a three dimensional display or exhibit;
construct and set up a three dimensional display or exhibit; and
remove the display or exhibit.

Explanatory notes
1
All work practices shall meet the requirements of relevant legislation, including Health
and Safety in Employment Act 1992, Resource Management Act 1991, and the
requirements of industry codes of practice and documented enterprise procedures in
respect to health, safety, and environmental matters.

Reference to company policy means any policies, procedures, and requirements of
the company involved, and the ethical codes of relevant professional management.

Evidence requirements
2.1
Work which is contracted out is completed within agreed schedule and budget.
Range
includes but is not limited to – photo enlargements, murals,
computer lettering or graphics, special display models or
mannequins, banners, showcards, carpet, electrical, joinery
installations, TVs, videos, sound equipment, hireage, equipment,
personnel.
2.2
On-site installations are co-ordinated to ensure agreed deadlines are met.
2.3
Display or exhibit is to client specifications.
2.4
Display or exhibit complies with fire and building codes applicable to the site.
2.5
Display or exhibit is set up with minimum disruption to activities in the immediate
area and with regard to the safety of people.
2.6
Display or exhibit is constructed for ease of dismantling, transportation, and
storage.

Remove display or exhibit.
Evidence requirements
3.1
Catalogue records details of missing, damaged, and reusable items.
3.2
Display or exhibit is dismantled and removed with minimum disruption to
activities in the immediate area and with regard to the safety of people.
3.3
Reusable items are stored as specified by company policy.
