People credited with this unit standard are able to: prepare for spray work using an airbrush and spray gun; execute special effects; and complete work clean-up. Range 1.2 includes but is not limited to – paint system, colour range, substrate finish. Tools, materials and equipment required for the task are assembled and set up for ease of work flow prior to commencement of work. Range includes but is not limited to – short or long term stencils. Outcome 2 Execute special effects. Evidence requirements 2.1 Even coverage of base colours is achieved without gaps and runs using spray gun. 2.2 Broad detailing is completed using stencils to comply with client specification. Range includes but is not limited to – hard or soft edge. 2.3 Fine detailing is achieved using an airbrush to comply with client specification. 2.4 Final brush detailing is completed to comply with client specification. 2.5 Even coverage of protective coating is applied without damage to completed artwork. 2.6 Spray gun and airbrush are used according to manufacturer's instructions. Outcome 3 Complete work clean-up. Evidence requirements 3.1 3.2 This unit standard is All paints, solvents, and hazardous materials are stored according to company expiring policy and regulatory requirements. Equipment is cleaned and stored according to manufacturer's recommendations and company policy.
