Estimating at this level covers the build-up of costings and prices for construction
industry tendering purposes.

Trades may include but are not limited to - preliminaries, demolition, precast concrete
work, reinforcing steel, structural steel, blockwork, joinery, plumbing and gasfitting,
plasterboard linings, floor coverings including trims.

Schedule of quantity items are analysed and separated into pricing components.

Margins are selected and applied to components to compile schedule rates.
1.3
Quotations for materials or services are selected according to their suitability for
the project.
1.4
Quotations for materials or services are applied to compile schedule rates and
tender submissions.

Evidence requirements
2.1
Overheads, profit requirements, and on-cost items are identified, calculated and
included in the schedule rates.
Outcome 3
Collate all priced components into a tender presentation.
Evidence requirements
3.1
The items required for the collation of a tender presentation are identified.
3.2
Priced schedule items are checked to ensure that they are within industry defined
limits of accuracy.
3.3
The tender presentation is collated and checked to ensure that it complies with
contractual requirements.

before they can report credits from assessment against unit standards or deliver courses
of study leading to that assessment.
Industry Training Organisations must be granted consent to assess against standards by
NZQA before they can register credits from assessment against unit standards.
