Describe the techniques used to establish or renovate pasture, and reasons for pasture
renewal or renovation.
Evidence requirements
2.1
Current industry techniques to establish or renovate pasture are described in
terms of their features.
techniques – direct drill, oversow, cultivation, fallow, conventional
drilling, broadcast;
features – destruction of previous vegetation, seed-bed
preparation, nutrient provision, pasture species and cultivar, timing
and method of sowing, early pasture management.

Reasons for undertaking pasture renewal or renovation are described in terms
of the likely gains to the producer.

Total seed required is calculated from a given seed mix.
