Definitions
On-farm procedures refer to the verbal or written procedures for reporting pasture
quality and condition of livestock, and feeding livestock.
In the context of this unit standard, livestock refers to either cattle or sheep.

Evidence requirements
1.1
Observation of pasture determines pasture quality, species, and presence of
weeds and pests.
1.2
Observation of pasture determines feed availability according to stocking rate,
season, and grazing system.
1.3
Assessment of availability of water supply and delivery system determines
availability to ensure sufficient for class of livestock.
1.4
Pasture quality, and presence of weeds and pests, are evaluated and reported
according to on-farm procedures.

not controlled by grazing livestock.

Evidence requirements
2.1
Feeding schedules are implemented in accordance with on-farm procedures.
2.2
Condition and health of livestock are observed and reported in accordance with
on-farm procedures.
