Classification Construction > Construction Technology Available grade Achieved Explanatory notes 1 Assessing expenditure at this level covers the completion of elemental cost plans for uncomplicated structures to provide clients with an accurate preliminary costing. 2 Preparation of cashflows at this level covers the analysis of a construction project to provide clients with sufficient information to enable them to arrange their financial requirements in general terms. 3 Assessment of this unit standard can be by simulation and/or observation. 4 Industry requirements referred to in this unit standard comprise company policies, procedures, and codes. Outcomes and evidence requirements Outcome 1 Prepare preliminary cost estimates. Evidence requirements 1.1 Methods of preparing estimates are explained in terms of area, cubic, and unit cost applications. 1.2 Preliminary estimate systems are evaluated, selected, and applied to give a complete costing in terms of information available. 1.3 Preliminary estimates are given in terms that indicate what is included and what is excluded. Range may include but is not limited to - GST, furnishings, whiteware, landscaping, site development, professional fees. Evidence requirements 2.1 Elemental cost plan concepts are researched and explained in terms of industry requirements. 2.2 Relevant cost plan documentation is identified, assembled, and interpreted in terms of industry requirements. 2.3 Documentation costs are evaluated according to industry requirements, and pricing procedures are applied to all items. 2.4 Total priced items are assembled with other costing input to formulate and/or cost plans that meet client's requirements. Outcome 3 Prepare cashflow statements to satisfy financial requirements. Range overall costings, monthly costings. Evidence requirements 3.1 The purpose of cashflows are identified and matched to the client's requirements. 3.2 Forms of cashflows are identified and matched to client's requirements.
