R.A. Bailey R.A. Bailey is a Professor of Statistics at Queen Mary and Westfield College in the University of London. In September 1999, she became Head of School at the School of Mathematical Sciences. She obtained her Doctorate in Mathematics from the University of Oxford. She worked in the Statistics department at the Rothamsted Experimental Station for 10 years. She has also served as a Professor of Mathematical Sciences at Goldsmith’s College. Bailey’s main area of research interest is in experimental design. Some of the specific topics that she is interested in include Semi-Latin squares, multitiered experiments, and neighbour-balanced designs. During her career she has written several books and many articles. She has also collaborated with other scientists to assist in working on topics such as diabetes in rats and children with behavior problems. She collaborated with Franklin to develop the Franklin-Bailey algorithm. The algorithm is for a fractional factorial design and it combines sequential construction with a search table. R.A. Bailey continues do work in the field of experimental design.
