Bailey Oelslager Bailey Oelslager is a graduate of the University of North Carolina Wilmington where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in the Education of Young Children. She continues to partner with UNCW as a Practicum and Field Experience Partnership Teacher and as a guest speaker for EYC undergraduate courses. Bailey has led parent empowerment workshops and professional development for early childhood educators on topics including 21st Century Learning at Home and at School, Pre-K Curriculum: The Purpose of Play, and Authentic Observation, and Assessment in the Pre-K Classroom. Bailey has been an early childhood educator for New Hanover County Schools since 2010, working with at-risk children in NC Pre-K and Head Start classrooms. She is currently teaching in a multi-age classroom, 3-5 year olds, at Dorothy B. Johnson Early Childhood Center. Her teaching philosophy centers around building meaningful relationships with the children in her class, creating an environment where students are empowered to be self-sufficient learners and compassionate about helping others, and being confident in taking risks. Bailey looks forward to conducting action research studying the importance of social interactions of young children and how those interactions influence their future success.
