DESCRIPTION
This course is designed to introduce the student to the history, strategy and tactics of soccer. The course will
include a section on the laws of the game, a historical overview of the game from its inception, a basic study of
offensive and defensive strategies and finally a study of game specific tactics.
COURSE OBJECTIVE
At the completion of the course the student will be able to:
1. List the laws of the game and their application.
2. Describe the history of the game, the World Cup, great players and histories of particular countries.
3. Identify Strategies based on playing formations.
4. Identify tactical applications of these various playing formations.
