What We Learned
This Week…
Math – This week we finished our unit on whole numbers,
decimals, and integers. We also continued to practice our
problem solving skills by making tables. Next week we will
begin our unit on addition, subtraction, and equations.
Reading – In our book clubs we are reading and discussing
realistic fiction books. We reviewed story elements and
strategies to attack unknown words. We also began
writing in our reader’s response journals.
Writing – We had the opportunity to write different types
of entries in our notebooks this week. We practiced
drafting and used a checklist to peer edit and revise our
stories. Then we published our wonderful writing.
Science – This week we continued to observe macroscopic
and microscopic organisms found in the different layers of
a pond. We even took a virtual tour of a pond to further
our understanding of the different organisms.
Congratulations 5J for winning the Golden Tray
last week! Let’s work hard to earn it again.
