What We Learned
This Week…
Math – This week began our unit on algebra. We identified
variables and learned how to write, evaluate, and simplify
algebraic expressions. Next week, we will learn how to find
the area of triangles.
Reading – We continued our non-fiction unit by reading
and taking notes on a variety of topics and organizing the
information we gathered. We also worked on building our
reading stamina by reading our Battle books.
Writing – We continued working on our informational
writing pieces by using powerpoints, posters, and videos to
present the information we gathered. We also learned
how to write a bibliography to cite our sources.

to build our Rube Goldberg machines. After completing
our contraptions, we demonstrated how they work to the
fifth grade. We also shared some science scoop articles.
