February 5, 2016 Dear Parents, We’ve had a busy week studying for and taking our Nonfiction unit test in Reading, finding and selecting a focus for our first essays in Writing, ending our Science chapter with a review activity, and finishing up our mixed numbers module in Math. Next week, students will test on Module 6 in Math on Wednesday, begin a research project in Reading, continue to develop our first essays in Writing and begin the study of our country’s Constitution and Bill of Rights. Here are some notes about the Valentine’s Day festivities at school next week: Our party will take place on Thursday, February 11, 2016 at 9:00 10:00 a.m. Our parent volunteers, Mr. Klee, Mrs. Henning, Mrs. Eterno, and Mrs. Rough have a great party planned, and the PTO will supply all food for the celebration including cookies, applesauce, Pringles, and water. Please respect our request to not bring in or attach treats to valentines. On Wednesday, students will make a special valentine bag to hold the valentines they receive. We will exchange valentines the first thing on Thursday morning before the party begins. I’ve attached a valentine list to this email. Valentine’s Day is also an early release day. Students will be dismissed at 12:50 a.m. immediately after lunch. Remember that Friday is an Institute Day and Monday is President’s Day—no school. Enjoy the long weekend! Have a great Super Bowl Sunday! Patti Nishimura
