Math: I can add ten more and subtract ten
less. I can tell time to the hour and half hour.
Reading: I can identify words and phrases
in stories or poems that suggest feelings or
appeal to the senses.
Social Studies: I can Understand the
elements of fair play and good
sportsmanship, respect for the
rights and opinions of others, and respect for
rules by which we live, including
the meaning of the “Golden Rule.”
Science: I know about animal adaptations
and can predict why an animal has a specific
adaptation to survive based on their
environment.
Writing: I can Write informative/explanatory
texts in which they name a topic, supply
some facts about the topic, and provide
some sense of closure.
Valentine’s Day
Valentine’s Day will be
celebrated on Friday, Feb 12th
in First Grade. Bringing
valentines is optional. If you
decide to bring in something,
please bring one for each
student in the class.

decorated box to hold your
Valentines. If you do not have a
box, a paper grocery bag
will be ok too.
