Retention Policy
In order to pass the current grade level, students should accomplish the following: 1) Students shall pass three
out of four nine weeks, with the exception of related arts, or maintain a passing yearly average to pass a subject. 2) A
student will have a possibility of gaining six points for the year, one point for passing each of the yearly classes (to obtain
a point for Related Arts, students must pass more than one-half of their related arts classes). 3) If a student is in danger
of failing during a nine weeks, that student will be offered ESS during that nine weeks or immediately following the nine
weeks. Once the student has completed ESS successfully, his/her grade will be changed to 60% for that activity. 4)
Based on the documentation provided by the student’s team of teachers, the final decision will lie with the principal.
