Math: In Topic 7, students will solve word
problems by reading the problems carefully,
taking them apart in a step-by-step way, and
writing equations to represent and solve
problems.
Please practice basic math facts for about 1-2
minutes per night.

Read Aloud/ Social Studies: The Giraffe Club
focuses on persons from our history who have
made important contributions to our world. This is
a great extension of the biographies we have
been reading during read-aloud! We will discuss
what qualities make a person a leader and
contributions they have made.
*Review phonics (Project Read)
skills for weekly test.
We have lots of runny noses in second
grade! Tissue boxes would be greatly
appreciated!!!
Classroom Reward: This Friday, the children
will have lunch and recess in the classroom.
They may bring in board games to play at
recess. No electronic games please!
