Week of 5/2 NEWS FROM ROOM 25 A NOTE FROM THE TEACHERS OPEN HOUSE WAS A SUCCESS! Thank you for all of the time you spent at home helping your child to prepare for the “State Fair”. It was so much fun to see the students display all of their hard work proudly!! Thank you so much for our gifts, cards, flowers and hugs!! We absolutely love what we do and feel privileged to be able to teach your children. Your support at home throughout the year has been amazing. Thank you for contributing to your child’s success on a daily basis. Reminder: Our class will take the math MAP test on 5/10 at 8:45am and the reading MAP test on 5/17 at 12:45pm. If you can avoid pulling your child from school on these two days, that would be great! CURRICULUM AT A GLANCE ***Class Awards*** Happy Mother’s Day!! We hope that our Mamas enjoyed the bookmarks and cards their kiddos made for them and spent some quality time together on the BEAUTIFUL day we had. The students voted for each other! How cool is that?! In math, we continued Module 11. Students located fractions on a number line and practiced writing the fractions in different ways. They used place value to read, write, compare and order decimal fractions to the hundredths place. CALENDAR OF EVENTS In science, we reviewed and tested Chapter 7 on Electricity. Students will complete follow-up review activities next week. Students finally finished their state reports and posters!! They shared these in class. Next week, we will begin Chapter 10, the Southwest Region. They have already been tested on the states and capitals of this region.
