Pie Crust
You are making 2 small pies
Label your pan

Put 1 1/3 c flour, ½ tsp salt ¼ cup
shortening and ¼ cup butter ( ½ stick) in
a bowl
Use the pastry blender

Cut the fat into the flour until is it
resembles peas
Sprinkle flour with water
1 Tablespoon at a time
 Sprinkle 3-4 T total of COLD water
 Mix with a fork

Roll into a ball
Cut ball in half
 Roll out pastry and make 2 small pies

Almost done!
Crimp the edges
 Cover and refrigerate


( typically you want the pastry to chill for
at least an hour so it is easier to roll out
