JOB SUMMARY: Plan, organize and coordinate the District’s exercise activities and the intramural
sports program.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

1.
Supervise routine housekeeping; ensure proper maintenance of District’s
athletic facilities and grounds; ensure proper maintenance and/or repair of
athletic equipment; initiate and monitor progress of service calls.

Provide support to the intramurals/recreational sports program; offer
assistance with advise, promotion and staff as needed.
Develop and maintain a cataloging and inventory control system for
instructional materials and athletic equipment, including out-of-service
equipment; request receive and store supplies.

Implement internal operational standards, policies and procedures; provide
personnel management direction and guidance to staff, including orientation,
coaching, personal and professional development; advise on employees’
performance.

Coordinate efficient athletic facilities and grounds utilization; ensue proper
allotment between credit and non-credit courses, intramural activities and
community use requests.

Coordinate and schedule non-sports related activities or special events.

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Dean, Architecture, Arts, Math and Science
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervision as a first-line supervisor overall assigned
staff.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree.
EXPERIENCE: Two (2) years experience.

Skills/Abilities: Ability to work under minimal supervision, attention to detail to apply basic
principles to solutions of a variety of work related problems; excellent organizational skills.

Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with an office
environment.
3.
Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation
software.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials.
Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of
standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion.
INTERPERSONAL SKILLS:
Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are
important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior;
and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with many and frequent
distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some
disagreeable elements.
