POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Manager, Intramural Activities Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Professional C JOB SUMMARY: Responsible for the management, development, implementation, and monitoring of the District’s Intramural Activities. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 25% 1. Develop, plan, implement and manage the District’s intramural programs and budget; coordinate, develop, and publish an intramural calendar; work with non-student (i.e. staff and faculty) organizations in coordinating intramural activities. 2. Design and create banners and flyers promoting intramural activities within the District. 25% 3. Coordinate activities with the departments to insure facilities, equipment, and appropriate set-up is available; hire and schedule activity officials; work with the manager of Student Activities in facilitating and promoting joint activities; and maintain and issue equipment. 20% 4. Implement internal operational standards, policies and procedures. 15% 5. Coordinate a variety of fiscally related tasks to include monitoring of expenditures, verify charges, resolve issues, purchase necessary equipment and supplies, maintenance and service of equipment. 15% REPORTING RELATIONSHIP: Director, Student Activities and Leadership SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Direct supervision as a first-line supervisor to staff assigned. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree. EXPERIENCE: Three (3) years experience. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Strong interpersonal skills; good communications skills (both oral and written), strong organizational skills; detailed oriented; ability to coordinate and manage multiple activities simultaneously; ability to maintain consistencies in actions and practices, and general management skills. Software Used: A variety of spreadsheet, word-processing, database, e-mail, and presentation software. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Duties require little physical effort in work with light (up to 10lbs), easy to handle materials. Duties performed causes light fatigue of eyes, fingers, or other faculties due to long periods of standing, sitting, and/or repetitive motion. INTERPERSONAL SKILLS: Alternative or combined skills in understanding, counseling, and/or influencing people are important in achieving job objectives, causing action, understanding others, or changing behavior; and, skills of persuasiveness or assertiveness, as well as sensitivity to the point of view of others. WORKING CONDITIONS: Job is performed in general office or comparable working area with many and frequent distractions such as noise, interruptions, or congested work areas with exposure to some disagreeable elements.
