POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: FLSA STATUS: Enrollment Services Specialist Non-Exempt CATEGORY: GRADE: Classified D JOB SUMMARY: Assist Student Services with the overall Enrollment Services process. Provide support in the web-room and serve as enrollment liaison to other District departments. Assist department Manager in establishing and tracking enrollment goals. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 1. Assist Student Services in answering questions from visitors, telephone calls, and e-mail requests for enrollment needs. Direct students, parents, faculty, staff, and visitors to the appropriate departments for further assistance. Greet visitors in a professional and courteous manner while working in a fast-paced, high-volume work environment. 2. Provide in-take services by interviewing students to determine needs based on individual circumstances; interpret and apply related policies, procedures, and guidelines in order to determine best course of action. Adhere to federal, state, local, and institutional laws, regulation and policies in order to ensure compliance with Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA). 20% 3. Serve as liaison for the various EPCC academic departments and/or support services regarding enrollment processes to include Admission/Registration, Financial Aid, Career Center, Counseling, and internal/external constituents. 20% 4. Respond to applicants via telephone and/or by e-mail. Provide assistance to the Manager in meeting enrollment goals; track enrollment progress, compile/update data, create reports and report information as needed. Serve as office backup for Admissions, Registrar, and Financial Aid departments. 15% 5. Assist students, faculty, or other staff with the web-room lab to include questions and concerns with the Student Services enrollment processes, assist applicants in registering and applying for financial aid. Enforce proper equipment usage to prevent equipment failure and arrange for equipment maintenance. 10% 6. Skills/Abilities: Knowledge of Federal and/or State Student Financial Aid Program’s policies, procedures, rules, laws, and regulations; Excellent customer service skills; Strong communication skills; Ability to multi-task; Ability to work independently in a high pressure environment; Strong telephone etiquette skills; Must be computer literate; Ability to work in a diverse environment and be sensitive to issues of diversity and inclusion. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer, fax, telephone, copier and other equipment associated with an office environment. 3. Software Used: A variety of word processing, spreadsheet database, e-mail, and presentation software.
