JOB GOAL
To provide leadership in the daily enrollment of new students and transfer students. This position
requires a thorough knowledge in the district’s enrollment policies and procedures. Knowledge of
applicable state, and federal laws and relevant compliance techniques associated with enrollments and
choice programs.

Minimum four (4) year Bachelor’s degree, Master’s degree preferred.
Demonstrated ability to work with the public.
A minimum of three (3) years of successful experience in School Choice or Programs.
A minimum of three (3) years of successful Customer Service with supervisory experience.
Ability to perform the functions of the position.

Proficiency in data entry.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite with a focus in MS Excel, MS Word, MS Access, and
Student Systems.
Bilingual Preferred.
Effective Oral and Written Communication Skills.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1.
To establish a relationship with parents who come to the Student Assignment Office for
school information or school assignment.
2.
To assist in community outreach activities designed to provide information to assist parents
with the interpretation of The Choice Assignment Plan
3.
To effectively manage the daily choice and enrollment programs to include but not limited to
Homeless programs (McKinney-Vento), Home School, Magnet and Choice.
4.
To ensure that State and Federal mandates for programs are being adhered to along with
preparing appropriate reports and procedures for Assignment personnel to follow.
5.
To work in coordination with the Director of Student Assignment on Grants and Budgets that
effect School Choice and enrollment programs.
6.
To design and update applications for Programs.
7.
To prepare the biannual Unitary Status Report and other public records requests.

To respond to parent concerns and questions on telephone or in person in conjunction with
the application of student assignment guidelines.
9.
To distribute transfer guidelines, review transfer packets for completeness, handle transfer
correspondence and keep transfer records.
10.
To coordinate with co-workers and assist Director with collecting enrollment data, monitor
enrollment trends and monthly reports from schools.
11.
To input school choice applications and assign students based on seating availability.
12.
To assist in the training and supervision of Student Assignment Operations.
13.
To assist in the supervision of the assignment process, including planning, implementation,
and evaluation of service and recommend changes as appropriate.
14.
To assist in maintaining and supervising the integrity of the computer-based magnet
database.
15.
To serve as custodian of the public records by maintaining complete record of reports and
policies related to Student Assignment.
16.
To perform assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
17.
To perform assigned tasks with a high standard of quality.
18.
To perform other related duties as assigned by the Director of Student Assignment.
Physical Demand Class: Light (L): Frequent Lifting and Carrying of objects weighing 10 pounds or
less. Infrequent lifting and carrying of objects weighing 11-20 pounds. Frequent walking and/or
standing is required to carry out duties.
