POSITION DESCRIPTION TITLE: Director CATEGORY: Administrative EXTENDED TITLE: Director, Dual Credit and Early College High School Program Exempt GRADE: D FLSA STATUS: JOB SUMMARY: Provide administrative oversight and leadership for all support services related to the Dual Credit and Early College High School Program (DC/ECHSP). ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: YEARLY PERCENT OF TIME 30% 1. Provide effective direction and leadership to ensure timely delivery of support services including recruiting, admissions, testing, academic advising and registration for Dual Credit/ECHS program participants. 2. Develop and maintain a partnership among various College Dual Credit stakeholders, including faculty, staff, EPCC administrators, and school district administrators/representatives. 20% 3. Collaborate with EPCC Deans and High School representatives concerning issues, working with all and introducing procedural consistency among the Dual Credit institutions and the Early College High Schools. 15% 4. Develop, recommend and implement short and long range strategic operational plans and related policies/procedures. Ensure compliance with state regulations. Recommend and implement modifications to program procedures. Develop and manage program budget. 10% 5. Organize and conduct meetings, prepare and present training/information sessions for internal groups as well as High School representatives. Coordinate all efforts and activities associated with high schools concerning Dual Credit and Early College High School Program activities. 10% 6. Provide personnel management, direction and guidance to staff including performance appraisal, coaching and development. 10% 7. BUDGET RESPONSIBILITIES: Departmental budget Amended: 01/13/12 Page 1 of 4 ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS: EDUCATION: Master’s degree EXPERIENCE: Seven (7) years related experience to include a combination of successful teaching experience, successful administrative or supervisory experience, and proven involvement with Dual Credit and Early College programs at some level. CERTIFICATION/LICENSURES: Valid Texas driver’s license and eligible for insurability. SPECIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Skills/Abilities: Understanding of instructional and administrative procedures within a community college and high school setting; effective communication and problem-solving skills; and strong interpersonal skills. Read, analyze, and interpret state and federal regulations. 2. Equipment Used: Personal Computer and other equipment associated with a general office environment (copier, phone, fax, etc.). 3. Software Used: A variety of word-processing, database, e-mail, intergraded administration information system, and presentation software.
