Sunrise Named Title I Reward School by State of Washington! Recently, our Superintendent Mike Nelson received word from the OSPI (our state's education department) that Sunrise is officially being honored as a Title I Reward School for the 2nd year in a row! This honor for our school was received for "high progress" in our students' academic performance in Mathematics and Reading over the last three years on the state MSP tests, which are taken each spring. Only 75 schools across the state of Washington received this designation this year and we were thrilled to receive this honor for two consecutive years. We are extremely proud of our students' hard work and the continued progress in student performance each year. We believe the hard work of students, the very intentional work of our staff members, and the continual support of families in their child’s learning has come together to allow this kind of progress to take place for our students. We are proud of this honor and also extend a congratulations to Southwood Elementary School, just across the field, which was also named as a Title I Reward School this year!
