Proposal for New Degree Program • Queer Studies WL Proposal to Revise Program • Group Major in Language and International Trade The guests from WL described the rationale for the changes to the program: to address recruitment and industry changes to attract more majors. Although PLSC had concerns about the new title creating potential confusion with the International Affairs major, and although PLSC had considered one of the possible new titles, the resulting last minute WL title emphasizing “careers” was not what they had formerly discussed. Other concerns were voiced about the inclusion of restricted electives from ANTH, CTAC, ECON, GEOG, HIST, and PLSC, which were either not reviewed by those units or were considered too long ago. The proposal was Tabled (8 for, 1 against, 0 abstentions) so that WL can acquire letters of support from those units and to allow discussion with PLSC over the last minute new program title. B.
