Below are some of the events being
celebrated in February.
Black History Month
Black history has been recognized
since 1926, beginning as Negro
History Week and later as Black
History Month which is celebrated
during the month of February.
Read and view material about the
history and lives of AfricanAmericans such as Martin Luther
King Jr., Rosa Parks, Frederic
Douglass, Harriet Tubman, Barack
Obama and many more. A list of
resources can be found at the
Reference Desk.
Darwin Display at the Library
February 12th will mark the 200 year
anniversary of the birth of Charles
Darwin whose theory on natural
selection is basis of evolution. To
celebrate his contributions to the field
of science, the Libraries has created a
display in the lobby of Renne
Library. Take some time and view
this exhibit.

The free EndNote Web makes formatting
citations and managing bibliographies
easy! Learn to import records, add notes,
correct and format them in any one of
thousands of citation styles.
Feb. 11—EndNote Web Advanced
You have the basics now let’s take it to
the next level. In this session, you’ll learn
how to import references into Word and
much more.
Feb. 18 - Library Databases: Tricks and Tips
Speed up your research by learning how
to better use our library databases. Learn
tips and tricks for more effective
searching and how to find the full text.
Feb. 25 - Navigating Word 2007
Learn some of the most useful MS Word
2007 commands for your citation and
other research needs.
In honor of President’s Day, take our quiz and test your knowledge
of presidential history.
