Stream and floodplain restoration
Stream work on McAlpine Creek from Sardis to Providence Road is complete
• 5,000 linear feet of eroded creek banks reshaped and stabilized
• 18,000 trees and shrubs planted in the restored floodplain
• Storm water retention pond repaired
Next spring, the plants added to the floodplain will become lush and green. Also in 2012, work will continue on two smaller streams that flow into this section of McAlpine Creek. The goals of this Storm Water Services project are cleaner water and improved habitat for aquatic life.
