YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK
January 2010
Dear Resident:
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and
consulting engineers, CH2M Hill, are in the final stages of
the Design Phase of the Edwards Branch Phase III Storm
Drainage Improvement Project. During this time staff is
finalizing the construction drawings of recommended
improvements which included stream restoration, stream
preservation with buffer and/or stream enhancements
and BMPs* in/near Winterfield Tributary and Evergreen
Cemetery. The plans are anticipated to be complete within
the next few months and then the project will enter
the Bid Phase. During the Bid Phase, the final plans will
be circulated to qualified contractors for a competitive
bidding process. By state law, the lowest responsible
bidder is awarded the construction contract. The bid phase
of a project typically lasts 4 to 5 months.
