Edwards Branch Phase III storm drainage improvement project YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK January 2010 Dear Resident: Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and consulting engineers, CH2M Hill, are in the final stages of the Design Phase of the Edwards Branch Phase III Storm Drainage Improvement Project. During this time staff is finalizing the construction drawings of recommended improvements which included stream restoration, stream preservation with buffer and/or stream enhancements and BMPs* in/near Winterfield Tributary and Evergreen Cemetery. The plans are anticipated to be complete within the next few months and then the project will enter the Bid Phase. During the Bid Phase, the final plans will be circulated to qualified contractors for a competitive bidding process. By state law, the lowest responsible bidder is awarded the construction contract. The bid phase of a project typically lasts 4 to 5 months.
