YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK
May 2015
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services has
begun the bid phase for the Blenhein Storm Drainage
Improvement Project. The construction plans have
been advertised for bid and five companies have
submitted proposals for the work. We are in the
process of evaluating the proposals.
Construction is anticipated to start in the fall of this
year. We will send out another mailer before the start
of construction.

Waterways Need
Plant Buffers
Buffers are trees,
bushes, and deep
rooted plants along
a stream, pond, river
or lake. They reduce
property loss from
erosion, support
fish and wildlife, and
improve water quality.
If my property is eroding,
what can I do?
• Plant native bushes and trees!
• Leave grass unmowed.
• Keep herbicides away.
