Background/History of the Project:
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and
consulting engineers CH2M Hill have completed the
Planning Phase of the Edwards Branch Phase III Storm
Drainage Improvement Project.

Current Status and Next Steps:
Storm Water Services and CH2M Hill have begun the
Design Phase of the Edwards Branch Phase III project
areas. The recommended improvements were shared
with the neighborhood during a Public Meeting in
May. The improvements that will be designed include
stream restoration, stream preservation with buffer
and/or stream enhancements, and BMPs* in/near Winterfield Tributary and Evergreen Cemetery.

*BMP opportunities: Best Management Practices include
ponds, constructed wetlands and rain gardens that are used
by themselves or in combination to reduce storm water
pollution and improve our water quality.
