storm drainage improvement project
YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK
Dear Resident:
Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services continues to
work on the Blenhein Storm Drainage Improvement Project.
The project goals are to update infrastructure, reduce
flooding of structures and streets, provide emergency
access, reduce erosion and increase stream capacity.
The engineering consultant, HDR, is working on producing
the 70% design documents and plats for easements. A
public meeting will be held to share the design and explain
where easements are needed.
Staff continues to work with the residents needing to be
relocated from flood-prone areas. The City has begun
demolishing the empty houses. Demolition of the houses
can take a couple months as each house must be tested for
asbestos and have any asbestos removed before the house
can be demolished.
