6 th a n d G r a h a m storm drainage improvement project YOUR STORM WATER FEES AT WORK July 2015 Charlotte-Mecklenburg Storm Water Services and consulting engineer HDR continue with the planning phase. HDR has analyzed the storm drainage system within the neighborhood to determine how well it is working and to locate any problems and/or concerns. HDR is now analyzing possible alternatives to determine the best solution. The analysis takes into account how the alternative performs in the project area, how it will impact the downstream areas and ability to construct the alternatives. The goals of the project are to reduce flooding and rehabilitate deteriorated storm drainage structures. They reduce property loss from erosion, support fish and wildlife, and improve water quality. If my property is eroding, what can I do? • Plant native bushes and trees! • Leave grass unmowed. • Keep herbicides away.
