Code Defects
• Random rock location in bottom of footer trench and left in place for
footer inspection.
Code Description
Section 1805.4.1
“Footings shall be so designed that the allowable bearing capacity of the
soil is not exceeded, and that differential settlement is minimized”.
Possible Options:
The differential settlement that can be created by a rock left in a footer
trench must be evaluated by a soil engineer or removed from footer trench.
