Panomporn Chalermwan* and Nattaphan Kecharananta**
This research aims to study the processes of the succession plan
and management hand over of a traditional family owned business
in Chiang Mai, as well as to study key success factors of
entrepreneur in family-run business. The method of this study is
mainly qualitative by focusing on in-dept interview. This research,
found that this family-run business started their succession plan by
having their younger generations familiar with the business at the
beginning. Firstly, the owner let them use the company's property as
their playground then gave them the introduction to their future
company. After that, the owner asked his successors in line to help
and work in the company during every weekend and holiday. They
were rotated and assigned to work in different departments. They
were taken care of by mentors in differents department.
Consequently, they learnt more and more of every job and its
circumstance until all of them were fully assigned for positions in
administrative role of the company.
