Outcomes
All managers and counselors must take this online 30-40 minute sexual
assault/violence against women awareness training. All college employees
and students will need to take the training eventually.
Reminder that updates are due the end of the month if possible, especially
if there are budget requests. The final deadline is the end of the semester.
Estimated 5% reduction in general fund. Are there any categorical budgets
that can pick up some general fund expenses?
Michelle and others visited Foothill, West Valley, and Mission colleges and
have brainstormed ideas for a Welcome Center/mini one-stop in SAC East.
The Welcome Center will be a triage as well as a concierge service for
Student Services departments. More complicated issues would be referred
to the appropriate departments. The operator console will be phased out
and phone service will be decentralized. There will be a bank of computers
for self-support and FAQs listed for each department. Michelle asked for
feedback of the draft Welcome Center proposal, which will be brought
back to the next meeting.
During spring break HR is moving to the lower campus, closer to payroll.
Student Government will then move to the HR offices in the 900 building
to provide space for the Welcome Center. Colton spoke against the move
stating past student senates secured $600,000 to furnish the Student
Activities Center.
Chegg is a website where student research colleges in California; Cabrillo
receives a list of students interested in Cabrillo and we can reach out to
those students.
