Write paper for the ‘Coastal Group’ to disseminate Peter Frew. information about the Pathfinder Projects Decisions The query from the reference group regarding the ring fencing of interest from the pathfinder funds was discussed. It was reported that the interest on the fund (which will deplete as the project progresses) will be negligible over the project period (approx. £7000). Due to the method in which the funds are held and their continued changing values it would not be cost effective to use officer time in separating the funds off on a daily basis. The project is already defending against calls to fund a full time accountant for the duration of the project and requiring the interest to be reallocated would strengthen this request. It was considered that it is far more worthwhile to concentrate officer time in accessing other funds such as the £10,000 from EERA and the free services provided by Business Link. However there is a sympathetic understanding from the board with regards to the Reference groups reasoning for the request and it was suggested and generally supported that if required funds equivalent of the interest may be able to be transferred to the pathfinder account. To be discussed at the Reference Group meeting. Open day on 24 April – the on site officer will be stationed on the cliff top to answer questions. Following the open day then options regarding Manor Farm Caravan Park need to be investigated further. It was stated that we do not necessarily need to look too far ahead if the land is not available. We may need to get further guidance from the planning department regarding the option to relocate static homes onto the touring areas of the caravan park. NNDC to host a Pathfinder lessons dissemination session in February 2011. Board is very happy with the approach and solution regarding the Marram’s footpath realignment. Issues Identified Negative letter in the EDP and NN News from an ex-councillor regarding the money being spent at Trimingham for a new village hall. No response required but we should keep an eye open for any further letters of this type.
