The annual State-of-the-College Address will now be held on Tuesday, March 26, at 4 p.m. in
the Ruth Pike Auditorium / 22 Biobehavioral Health Building. An announcement will be
distributed soon from the Dean’s Office.
NIH’s Office of Behavioral and Social Sciences Research has launched a new blog called “The
Connector” which covers topics including systems science, dissemination and implementation
research, and the NIH Toolbox, in addition to keeping readers up-to-date on OBSSR’s activities,
training, resources, and funding opportunities. Community Catalyst’s Health Policy HUB is
publishing a “Community Catalyst Blog”—this week is “Big Advances Coming for Behavioral
Health”. As you come across resources of interest to the prevention community, please share
them—we’ll be happy to include this information in the newsletter.
Dissemination and Implementation Research in Health (R01) (PAR-13-055) (also R03 and
R21)
A reminder that those required to submit annual updates of Significant Financial Interest
Disclosures in COINS (Penn State’s Conflict of Interest System) must do so by April 30. For
more information, visit https://coins.psu.edu/. For additional information on Conflict of Interest
policies and requirements, see the Conflict of Interest links on the PRC website.
The Child and Family Policy Consortium is again holding monthly conference calls on topics
of interest—February’s call (Monday, February 18, 11 a.m.) will be with Adam Winsler, Editor,
Early Childhood Research Quarterly, and Peg Burchinal, Associate Editor, Child Development and
Early Childhood Research Quarterly. http://www.childpolicyuniversityconsortium.com/about_us.php#calls
The EPISCenter has added two new PRC staff: Jennifer Landry started in late January as a
Project Coordinator/Research Technologist, primarily assisting Brian with scheduling,
communication, and travel and serving as a research assistant on his non-EPIS projects. In early
February Tania Luciow will join the EPISCenter as its Communications Manager. Tania is
coming from the National Law Enforcement Officers Memorial Fund in Washington, DC, where
she was the Communications and Social Media Manager. Welcome Jennifer and Tania!
