REDWOODS COMMUNITY COLLEGE DISTRICT Meeting of the Facilities Planning Committee LRC 107 2:00 p.m. July 16, 2012 Meeting Notes PRESENT Dave Bazard, Tami Engman, Tim Flanagan, Anita Janis (phone), Ray Kingsbury, Lee Lindsey, Mike Mendoza, Theresa Sisson, Keith Snow-Flamer, Maggie White and Lorie Walsh. OTHERS PRESENT Doug Edgmon, Roxanne Metz, Julia Peterson CALL TO ORDER Maggie White called the meeting to order at 2:05 p.m. SUMMARY NOTES The summary notes from the May 7, 2012 were approved as presented. DISCUSSION MEASURE Q PROJECTS FACILITIES MASTER PLAN Lee noted that the project list of remaining Measure Q items, which have not had funds spent, will be re-ranked and rebalanced. Layout of the Facilities Master Plan (FMP) was reviewed. Lee noted that there are several items that were duplicated, and they will be merged. In regards to using buildings that we are vacating and their future usage, the space cannot require students to enter the space. The designation from the Division of the State Architect (DSA) must stay the same, i.e.: the old Library is designated as “general meeting space”. Members also mentioned that there needs to be definite plans in place for buildings that are not being used of vacated (Pool, old Library, Admin, PS/LS). Lee discussed total cost of ownership: the importance for LEED / Energy Star projects, and to reduce, reuse and recycle equipment. Lee asked the committee members to review the FMP in full and provide feedback by the end of the day on Monday, July 23rd. TRANSITION Tim Flanagan will be new co-chair with Maggie White. Lee Lindsey will OF continue to attend meetings. CHAIRPERSON FUTURE MEETING DATES Next meeting: Thursday, July 26th 12:30p-2p. The committee also discussed the need to continue to meet over the summer. COMMENTS Lee mentioned that there are Bookstore and Dining Open Forums / listening sessions coming up: Sunday, July 29, 2012 from 5 pm to 6 pm in the first floor atrium of the new Student Services/Admin building. Monday, July 30, 2012 from noon to 1 pm in the new Boardroom on the second floor of the new Student Services/Admin building.
