etc. But must be in a computer lab with time to try things. Please see what I
wrote under #4. I thought professional development was to be a pathway for
advancement and promoting from within. Most of the above topics --just don't
seem suited to professional development.

For the most part, an outstanding speaker should be presenting to all (faculty &
staff). I don't have a name available, but I know they're out there--leaders in
inovative education and students services. Speakers that have a story to tell and
know the value of an education and how it can impact lives. Inspirational
speakers.

I've always throught that professional development for classified staff means
how to gain more knowledge and training in either your field or another field that
you may wish to learn about. I throught professional development was meant to
be a pathway to opportunities for advancement.

A lot of procedures are passed on to new people incorrectly. Periodic training to
keep everyone up on updates/changes to procedures would be awesome. they
don't seem to check in Public Folders (or don't know they have access). And
sometimes procedures aren't updated there, or old ones are left to confuse
issues. This of course applies to Faculty, Managers, etc, too...
