This is an observation about serving students. Since any employee of CR should consider him/herself an
ambassador for the college, I think it would be beneficial for new and existing employees (managers, classified,
union, faculty, et al) to attend a comprehensive seminar and campus tour that educates every employee about
how we serve students. If one of the primary goals is to increase enrollment and retention, then start with
educating all staff on the value of CR, the accessibility of its programs and the college's relationship to the
community at large. In general, a workshop or seminar of this nature would be a constructive way to build up
positive word-of-mouth PR and would increase what I personally see as valuable customer service skills and a
richer understanding and respect for this institution.

responsibilities as they relate to SARS, Datatel, etc.

I'm wondering what happened to Professional Development for Classified in 2014-15? I do not remember one
single opportunity. I would also like to see cross-discipline/department opportunities (like the Success Summit),
where staff are encouraged to attend and participate along with faculty, Confidentials, Administration and
Managers.
