Members Absent:
1. Call to Order: Committee Chair, Peter Blakemore, called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m.
2. Introductions and Public Comment: Geoff Cain the de dept would like would to bring forward
issues regarding DE and DSPS and they want Curriculum’s input at a later time.
3. Approval of the Minutes: Gary Sokolow moved to approve the minutes of the Oct. 22, 2010
meeting, seconded by Paul Kinsey. There being no objections, the minutes were approved as
written.
4. Discussion
4.1 Curriculum Forms and Justification of Need Statements
Forms with the addition of the Justification of Need question and description of required
statement will be on the January 28th Curriculum Agenda as an action item.
4.2 Field experience - A discussion about the logistics of creating field experience courses. Several
issues will need to be addressed: effective contact, faculty compensation, FTEs, how would it
be monitored (staffing). More discussion is needed.

1. The PowerPoint presentations will be bundled with the voice over lecture and lecture
notes, additionally the students will be able to download notes. Students will be able to
view PowerPoint using Flash. The Distance Education department will have laptops
available for checkout.
