Program Goals:
1. Prepare students to take advantage of an expanding and increasingly technology-based entertainment industry as learned and creative
members of the workforce in theater related disciplines and/or to pursue graduate studies.
2. Provide students with breadth of knowledge; theoretical foundations; in-depth experiences in studios, classrooms, and shops, as well as
experiential activities to enhance their skills and knowledge within the context of their specific goals.

Interpret dramatic literature both as an art form and as a reflection of its time.
Distinguish major genres and styles of dramatic literature.
Discuss major developments in theatre architecture, scenic practice, costume traditions and performance conventions.
Identify significant plays, dramatic criticism, and dramatic theories of major time periods in theatre history.
Design and implement his/her own corrective make-up., to age himself with paint, and to effect nonrealistic character make-up.
Articulates an understanding of theatre as a synthetic art and demonstrates competence in the performance of a variety of play production
crew assignments. Production crew participation is interpreted to mean involvement in the crew's activities from the planning stages through
the final performance, including final strike.
7. Exhibit an acceptable degree of stage presence, movement, projection and diction; is able to interpret and create a character, both from the
written script and by improvisation and has a working knowledge of major acting styles and periods.
8. Demonstrate a working knowledge of script analysis character analysis, composition and picturization, pantomimic dramatization, play
selection, casting, directing styles and production personnel problems.
9. Recognize the business aspects of the entertainment industry.
